The annual HR Unconference returned to Oklahoma City this May with a fresh theme and a powerful message: ConnectHR. Held May 5–6, 2025, this two-day event built on the momentum of previous years (FunHR, PowHR) by focusing on what HR does best—bringing people together.

From the moment attendees stepped into the venue, the atmosphere began to buzz with energy. Lively discussions, breakout sessions, and collaborative problem-solving filled every corner. As the event photographer, I had the privilege of capturing these authentic, unfiltered moments—moments where professionals weren’t just attending a conference, but actively building relationships and reshaping the future of work. It’s an image that makes an impression.

This year’s event took a strong step toward reconnection in a post-remote world. Panelists and facilitators leaned into real-world challenges and gave attendees space to brainstorm, vent, and ideate together. Between sessions, I documented everything from keynote mic drops to coffee-fueled strategy chats to spontaneous bursts of laughter that prove why in-person events still matter.

One of the most rewarding parts of photographing ConnectHR was capturing those unscripted moments—the handshakes, shared smiles, and impromptu sidebars that often matter more than the main stage. These are the kinds of moments that don’t just tell the story of an event—they become the story.

If you were there, I hope these photos take you back. And if you missed it, I hope they give you a taste of the energy, connection, and community that made ConnectHR 2025 one for the books.
